Named by USA Today as one of the top 10 botanical gardens in the country, the Atlanta Botanical Garden opened for visitors in 1976. The gardens have two locations, one in Atlanta and the other in Gainesville. Since it opened, the Atlanta Botanical Garden organization has sought to develop and maintain plant collections for patrons to enjoy and learn about.

During the year, the organization hosts a variety of events to encourage the public can enjoy the plants and grounds. One such event is the Fall Woodland Ramble Arts and Crafts Market, scheduled for October 7, 2017, at the Gainesville location. This Saturday-afternoon event lets people browse arts and crafts made by local artisans. Many of the items are nature-themed and made of upcycled materials. Afterward, attendees can enjoy food provided by food trucks and walk through the gardens.
